I was thinking: what's the best *transition* from one song to the next on any Stones album? By this I mean a pair of songs where the end of one is the perfect kick-off for the next. I can think of two great ones right of the bat..

#2 "Let it Loose" into "All Down the Line" on Exile. All of side 3 builds up to "Let it Loose" , the album's longest song, and the emotional climax of the record. Then - BANG - a total change of gears into the brimming confidence and energy of ADTL. After LIL, the start of ADL sounds like a Harley kicking over. When those first three chords hit on ADL, you know you've hit that great home stretch of side 4 of Exile. Of course, this segue only works on CD, where there are no "sides", but the "sides" of Exile still exist, if only in our minds..

#1 "Wild Horses" into "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" on SF. Same as above, but more so. The last couple of notes on "Wild Horses" sort of linger in the air after the song is done..the breifest of pauses..then..the bark of Cerberus, the three-headed hound of hell. The brief moments between the end of WH and the start of CYHMK are like those moments right before you..well, I won't go on, 'cuz kids might be reading this..but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Any other candidates?
