: To quote from below. I say that the only way this can be pulled off and have him not look foolish is for the band to concentrate on the Blues, similar to their idols who are still doing it. Could you take the song "Start Me Up" seriously on stage in 4 years? Could the general public? What do you think is going to happen?

First, I agree that the boys ought ta be pickin' the blues, and tunes like "The Storm" need to be released and played onstage until they've been molded into seamless wonders. Forget the pop charts, forgo the techno-avante posing, and get on with POOR BOY BLUES. We wanna hear the wailin' Keeftar and the 'owlin Jagger, backed by supple Wattage and a dash of Woodery. Yea, Paint It, Blue, boys.~~However, on the question of Jack Flash wrigglin' his arse, let me point out: Chuck can still duckwalk, B.B. King can still make Lucille swing, Aretha still shakes a tailfeather, Tom Jones (yea, herewith I am reaching) still swings unusual, JOHN LEE HOOKER still "bbboogies," and even the Jack Lalane of rock, Roger Daltrey, is warming up his pecs for a prospective WHO tour next year. The Stones continue to age gracefully like many of their blues idols, but the Stones are their own band as well. They gotta be themselves, meaning Mick's gotta do what comes natural, not what's been the accepted "norm." ~~Rock ON...~~Vacendak~~
