There's nothing wrong with bringing in first-rate session men. : If Nicky was still around that would be great, but that's not the case. True Mick n Keef may not be the greatest piano men so maybe Chuck can hang. But my point is they do not need many session people. One, two or maybe three, that's all. I wanna hear the STONES! : : : Here I agree with you again. Sort of. The problem is, of course, that tastes differ as to which 8 or 9 songs out of 16 are best. If they include them all, you can always skip the ones you don't like. : : But if most fans are skipping over five or so songs, then the album will not be considered great. When I play LIB or BB I don't skip over any songs. : : But if they leave them out, you might miss out on one you really like. : Well, I agree with what FPM writes above. . You can put them out as B sides so they will not be missed. Think of the two songs on B2B that you care for the least. Whatever they are, if they had been kept off the album and just used as B sides, you would like that album a little better. Plus when you got to hear them on the B side you would maybe not dislike it so much since you may look at those songs now as bonus tracks. : : Plus, I would wager that the length of these LPs was determined more by what was techinically feasible on a 2-sided vynil LP than by artistic considerations. If they could have crammed 6 more songs onto these records they may well have done it. : Then I'm glad they were not able to back in '69. As I stated, you got to want to make those great songs. If you do it just cause you got the room on the CD and not cause you got that feeling in your gut to spit out a great tune, then the song isn't gonna turn out that great. : : : Any record that Ron Wood needs to be a big part of is in big trouble right from the get-go. : What about Some Girls? I really believe they could pull off one hell of an album if they did this. Do you think this is asking to much?....Do you think the Stones just can't put our another great album again?.....Do you think going back to the way they used to record is really that bad?.......I don't. : : Look, there's been one thing that's been conspicuously absent from the Stones recent efforts - great lead guitar work. If Keith won't put aside his grudge against Mick T for bailing from the bankd, maybe they could hook up with Carlos Santana, who clearly still has the chops. Now THAT would be a memorable album! : I still like MT & Carlos is OK. But I wanna hear Keef kick some ass! He is and has been the Stones main sound since day one. We the fans and the Stones the band need that.
