As for Rocks Off - I hear you talkin', brother Hammer. It really does wrap everything up in one neat package. It's funny and serious and slow and fast and great. My friends who saw them in '72 all said it killed as an opener. The few times I've heard them do it live haven't quite lived up to the studio version, but that may be because it's PERFECT.

I figured if you like Black Crowes you'd have to like Humble Pie. 30 Days In The Hole is a pretty good song. I saw them way back in the day - '73 or so. Don't remember anything about 'em. But Peter Frampton used to play with them so don't get TOO excited.

What's your concern with "recognition"? Anyone who MATTERS knows the Stones rule. I just read a little Joe Strummer interview and he said "no one can rock like the Stones...I don't care if they're 70." If everyone else doesn't get it -- FUCK 'EM.

You're quoting of Casino Boogie was a nice touch. Some of my favorite lyrics (especially the alliterative mention of Cannes)-- did you know they were written using William Burroughs' cut-up method? That's why they don't exactly make sense, but DO make sense, but don't, but do.

Sha do bee.
