: That was a great review Ladybear! Most of what I was gonna say you did from me. I'll just add a
: little to what you wrote, but first, one thing...
: MICK TAYLOR WAS GOLDEN IN GODLEN!!
: : Mick went on about 10:45, kicking off his set with "Twisted Sister" from his new CD "A Stone's
: Throw".
: I just wanna add that this song kicks ass! Before this song ended I was already wishing Mick would
: come on back to the Stones.
: : Keno and I squeezed in right next to the stage, with Mick only a few feet away. I spent a lot of
: time just watching his hands, his fingers as he played.
: I spend most of the show doing this. Most of the time he was about two or three feet away from us
: and to just stare at this hands and watch him play was a gas! I loved the fact that he played at least some slide on every single song.
: : And yes, he came back and gave us an instrumental "Can't you hear me knocking" that I will remember all my life.
: Ah yes, sounded grand! Sound a lot like the studio cut minus Keef's solo plus no vocals. But what surprised me was on all the other songs performed, except one (I can't remember the title but Mick said it was something new his group had thrown together), Mick sang lead vocals. I had in the past only seen Mick live with the Stones, never solo, therefore I never heard him sing live. His voice is not bad at all. Maybe not the strongest around but still better than I expected. But of course, if he hadn't sang a note and had just played his guitar, fine, that was why I was there.
: :If this tour passes through your town, you go! I mean it! You won't regret it.
: No question. If you dig MT and he is going to be anywhere within 100 miles of where you live, YOU GOT TO GO!! Like Ladybear said, he is the show, not his band (don't get me wrong, he has a GREAT band, but they stay back on the stage and MT is always out front [minus the intros]). Taylor was on fire last night, yet he was also ill, so I can only bet how much better he could be when
: well. Some of you I hope will be lucky enough to check him out and see for yourselfs.
: : Thank you Mick Taylor!!!
: Yes, a very big THANK YOU!! Nothing like a hot guitar player to make you forget about the cold
: outside!
What a lovely review. Mick Taylor is "processed instant God."
