: Most overrated Stones album for me is EOMS. That should not surprise anyone here who knows me. Please note that doesn't mean I don't like it, it just always seemed overrated to me. A close second would go to Steel Wheels which I never understood all the hype it got when it came out. Overrated song? Gimme Shelter. I very much like this song. It makes my top forty Stones song list (35). But it seems that most Stones fans like this song the best if you go by our on going song poll. Not me. Yes its a good song, but IMO, overrated.
Most overrated with me? Probably Let It Bleed. Don't get me wrong, I love the album. But it's nowhere near as brilliant as Beggar's or Sticky Fingers, which came before and after it, respectively. Also, Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! is pretty overrated. I mean, there's nothing on there from pre-1968, which was one of the Stones' best eras. (This excludes "Carol," which mainly got a place on here 'cause of Keef's obsession with Chuck Berry.) Had it included "I'm Free" or "Under My Thumb," I'd like it better.
As for most overrated song? Probably "Brown Sugar." I never did like that song much, but that's just me.
