Excellent observations, sometimes hilarious. It's Brian playing the lead in this, one of his finest moments IMHO. Sounds like Elmore James.
Other than Money (which would be pretty interesting to compare also, except the Beatles win that round), you could compare recorded versions of Roll Over Beethoven (the Stones didn't release theirs but it's on early boots)- according to legend Keith had to teach George how to play the solo in the Beatles' version.
I think the Beatles' version of Money is fantastic. One of Lennon's greatest vocals.
