Ah, great post Red Rooster. I sense the homosexual theatre involving Jagger-Jones-Richards reaching it's conclusion with the decline of Jones and the ascendancy of the Jagger-Richards "marriage". Which survives divorce-free until this day. Jones was the odd man out with Mick's "affections" and while Brian may have manipulated Jagger's sexual ambiguity for his own purposes early in the formative years he was drained by '68. Shimmer he does--and that is an excellent description of the whole sound of Beggar's --it is an eerie and ethereal atmosphere owing once again to Jones' impeccable taste, and his mere presence dominates the style of the record for the last time. His influence on Let It Bleed is merely an echo.....he was a kind of genius (not neccesarily musical) in my opinion.
