There is the inevitable clunker or two, but among 4 cd's or so, there is a lot of good music. And usually for $15-25. GREAT shit for a beginner. From there you say - "Shit, I really like Muddy the best, I'm gonna go get his other stuff." etc. Like the recommendation of Rober Johnson. Now, don't get me wrong Steve, you know I love you, but Robert Johnson is an acquired taste for many. He is in his own league as far as the blues go and he has his own UNIQUE sound that many don't easily cotton to. Especially when they might have a tendency toward say - Chicago Blues. Robert Johnson, I think, can only be truly appreciated AFTER you get your Blues Wings. But that's just me. Just don't buy any freakin' Koko Taylor.

Actually, I agree w/ you there. It did take me a while before I really got into Robert Johnson. Or any blues, for that matter. See what the Stones have done for me? They've introduced me to an awesome form of music.
I started out with the Stones, then moved on to psychedelic blues (Hendrix, Cream), then went back in time to electric delta blues and all that (Muddy, Wolf, etc.), then finally ended up with acoustic blues (Johnson).
