: Would you like it if your boss suddenly took credit for a project you did thinking you would get credit/respect/appreciation for it?

Happens every day chick. Life ain't fair.

How do you think Keith would feel if Woody wiped out and overdubbed some of his parts to make a song sound better?

AHHHHHHhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Yeah, like that would ever happen! Woooo, that's a good one.

You assume the reason Keith overdubbed Brian's parts is because they were not up to par. You could be completely wrong.

I probably am. Keno's version is definately more acurate. My point is that you don't know, I don't know, no one knows, except for those involved. For you to second guess Keith or Mick is silly. It's the same as me second guessing what club Tiger Woods should use on a downwind par 3. Tiger knows what club to hit better than I would. Same with Stones tunes. Mick & Keith know better than you what goes into (or gets left off) of a Stones tune.

Keith isn't God; he should treat his fellow musicians the way he would want to be treated; like an equal member of the team.

What you fail to realize here Hotty, is that Keith has only one equal in the Stones. Mick. Charlie gets his respect, but in matters of song construction, Mick would be the only one he might defer to. The Stones are not a team. They are a 2 headed dictatorship. It's been that way since Aftermath. Those who write the songs have the power.

You second guess Brian but give Keith the benefit of the doubt because he's the "Keef".

Right.

Keith has own set of faults; he's human. Keith was fucked up on drugs for longer than Brian ever was; Keith in the 70s relied on Mick to do his guitar parts and would make the others wait HOURS just for him to wake up & get to the studio.

And your point?

Yes, the song turned out well, but for all we know, it may have been similar or even better with Brian.

It's pretty hard to do better than perfect my dear. And in the condition Brian was in at the time, I highly doubt that he was capable of being better than perfect.

That was just the straw that broke the camel's back, in my opinion, when you look at how they treated him.

Brian is dead. He has no one to blame for his decline in the Stones but himself. He was the one who let Andrew, and Mick, and Keith walk all over him. The boy could play a mean slide guitar, but he didn't have much backbone. IMO, Brian NEEDED Mick/Keith because he couldn't write songs as good they did. He could put imput in on someone elses ideas, but to come up with something on his own.....didn't happen much. I'm certainly not gonna say Brian Brian didn't contribute. He most certainly did, and well too. And he probably got jerked out of some credit for that too.

Let me ask you this, if Brian was being so trod upon, why did he stick around so long? I mean he certainly saw the handwriting on the wall after Aftermath was released. He could have left at any time. He certainly could have found lots of great musicianns to play with. But he stuck with the Stone. Here's my theory. Brian knew Mick/Keith were the real deal. He knew that success was assured with the Stones. He put up with being shit on because that was his ticket to fame and fortune. If he had stuck his own path away from the Stones he would have ended up in the same predicament. Brian was a great musician, but he wasn't a songwriter. Don't trust Mick & Keith's judgement on that? Bill and Charlie have both gone on record stating that as well. As a matter of fact, I believe Bill's quote was "Bloody awful". OK so what's the big deal? Brian didn't get some songwriting credit? Neither did Bill, or Mick Taylor, or Woody. That's the way Mick and Keith play. That's the way they always have played. Fair, no, but it's their band. They can do whatever thay want. And you and I have no right to tell them how to run it. I think they have been pretty successful doing things their way.
