: I was attending college at univ of fla and the stones played to sellout to 60,000 people at tangerine bowl in orlando. Opening acts The Henry paul aBand and Van halen.
: The was the last really decadent tour. I remember outlaw motorcylce bikers circling the stadium as we waited outside the night before as festival seating was the way back then. I was 18 and a little green, but I remember a Indian guy in line in front of me who actually was shooting up, and later in the night he overdosed and was rushed out by ambulance.
: Great memories of a past era.
- Also saw them in '81 Sept., opened at JFK stadium here in Philly. The opening acts were Journey and George Thorogood. Journey sucked, Thorogood blew everybody away.It was the first time I saw Stones, they were fabulous. Keith was on the right hand side of the stage, several times he stuck the neck of his guitar out over the crowd. At one point Mick put on an Eagles football jersey. The now defunct Phila. Journal took potshots even then about the band's age. I wrote a small 3 paragraph retort on their behave (as did other fans), mine was published in the paper. I wrote it under a pseudonym, still have it, all these years later. Glad to see so many of us were right, and the band didn't back it up anytime soon.
