I turned and told them that I wasn't going to sit for a Stones show, sorry, but we all paid good money to be there, and I wan't going to sit. (Mind you ALL other section and even the back of our section was standing). When I turned back, they threw a beer on me, and when I turned to basically tell them off, the guy punched me. It turned into a surreal situation with security and darkness and yelling. And basically, the security did nothing because "they didn't see it happen". The short of it was that I stood for the rest of the show (and if I had planned on sitting, I wasn't going to do it now). But I had a hell of a headache, and although I tried not to let it effect the show--it did. It put a damper on a show that in all other aspects was rockin and perfect. Now I have tshirt and a shiner to remind me of the show. I guess I am really pissed that people have to be such asses. I mean we were all there to enjoy the show, and we all paid good money to be there, but they felt as if it was ok to sucker punch someone because they wanted to dance to the music. Something is wrong with that. Seriously wrong. Sorry that this post has turned into a bitch session, but I was and am still blown away that during "Live with Me" I was slammed by a "fan". I will never forget it.
That would suck...did this arena sell beer in cans or what? Well at least you will have a story to tell when you're old and gray and some youngster wants to hear Pops tell them all about that rock and roll band from the Stone age. My worst/most "memorable" concert experience was when I saw Guns & Roses in the early 90s just outside St. Louis. I had a cast on one leg from the knee on down. Well, G n R started the show, everything was cool. About the end of the 2nd or 3rd song, Axel starts yelling at some guy in front of the stage. Then he jumps down from the stage and starts punching the guy. Security rushes in, and the band goes backstage. Axel comes back out and says that because some jerks have cameras, the show's over. After 2 or 3 songs!! Axel leaves the stage, and the crowd went nuts!! Booing, throwing shit at the stage, and then a mad rush towards the parking lot. I end up getting half trampled after being knocked down because of the damn cast on my leg! We spent three hours sitting in the car waiting to get out of the parking lot. Meanwhile, Axel and co. fly over our heads in a helicopter back to their hotel, the bastards. That was rough, but I would be totally infuriated if someone fucked with me at a Stones gig, especially since you never know when it will be the last. Can you possibly imagine how boring a Stones concert would be if everyone sat? They would walk off the stage!! Rock on....Vacendak
