: : I'm going to see the Indians get rained on now.
: That's the spirit, but I disagree with the final statement, as well as the steps taken toward it.
But I AM going to see the Indians, and it really IS going to rain!
Seriously, though. I don't play Emotional Rescue that much, but every time I do I like it. Let Me Go is funny, Send It To Me is funny (especially the first line, "I think I've had enough, religion's tough, it's a state of mind, I don't need it!"), and She's So Cold cracks me up, too. Mick was really cruising on those three, but Indian Girl is coma inducing. It's almost as bad as the B-side to Saint of Me, Any Way You Look At It.
When there's one song that bad, I can't look past it. Emotional Rescue is sort of like B2B or Goat's Head or Between The Buttons for me. All are a little experimental, all have a couple of really great moments, and all have some real clinkers. The worst thing about Emotional Rescue is the production. Some Girls was so lean, and then this pompous, bombastic release shows up. It could have been much better. Dropping Indian Girl for Fiji Jim would have been REALLY cool.
