I can totally relate to that opinion! Brian, Mick T. and Ronnie are just what's going on AROUND Keith Richards. And for me, the Stones are Keith.

Bootleggers stealing a lot of a studio session (Voodoo Lounge had to have at least 100 hours of tapes, considering how the Stones record.) shouldn't have too much to do with what gets released on any album. Voodoo Lounge had a ton of B-sides because Virgin made a lot of money from them. Voodoo Lounge was a huge seller, and the sales demanded single releases. Plus, Virgin actually seemed to be promoting that album, which they didn't do with B2B. Considering how bad Any Way You Look At It was, maybe there just wasn't much interesting stuff in the can. Tattoo You is the exception rather than the rule with a Stones album release. They just don't usually go back that far for material, though they did go back ten years or so for So Young, which should have been saved for B2B and been the lead off single now that I think about it. But to get anything that Mick T. was involved in would be digging back thirty years in some instances, and that kind of music doesn't sell today unless it's a rarities compilation from a defunct band, which the Stones are not.
