East Meadow is a hamlet located in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York. The population was 37,796 at the 2020 census. Many residents commute to Manhattan for their jobs, which is about 30 miles (48 km) away (about 15 miles [24 km] to Queens). It's evation is 72 feet (22 m). It also happens to be the town on Long Island where your webmaster mainly grew up (from age 5 to 18, just 2 blocks from the third cam showed below on East Meadow Ave, which was called "Newbridge Ave" back then).
