Long Island City is a residential and commercial neighborhood on the extreme western tip of Queens, New York. It is bordered by Astoria to the north; the East River to the west; Sunnyside to the east; and Newtown Creek—which separates Queens from Greenpoint, Brooklyn—to the south. Long Island City is the eastern terminus of the Queensboro Bridge (aka 59th Street Bridge), the only non-tolled automotive route connecting Queens and Manhattan.
