:as a whole, VL is their best effort since at least "Some Girls," if not "Exile" itself.

Very true. Voodoo Lounge has feel of a classic due to the creative juices that were flowing at the time. Those sessions had an air of invincibility about them. They didn't use 10 producers and piece together two solo albums. They went back to basics and, without rehashing past glories, they got creative on top of a rock solid grove without silly "Dust Brothers/ Baby Face" pandering to the Gen X eye brow piercing know nothing crowd. B2B could have been MUCH better had they followed suit that time out. Most of the B2B songs are not bad. But the overall result was lacking due to their turning off the Voodoo Lounge highway and going down the B2B dead end. The first time I sat down with that CD and took my first listen, I was horrified upon reading the credits and seeing Waddy Weirdo all over it.

I know they will get back on that highway again.

Mick and Keith both realize their mistake.
