I wouldn't be surprised that Brian had very little to do with Beggar's Banquet. Use whatever reason you want for the why of it, but Brian was pretty tore up by then. He certainly didn't add much to Sympathy For The Devil, which is easy enough for us to witness, but he may be more involved with some of the other tracks. He may even have played some harp. I doubt he would have been very aggressive on any instrument at that period in his life.
